BA (Hons) Top-Up Street Dance Artistry & Hip Hop Theatre

This original and innovative programme will allow you to explore and expand your creative identity within a range of dance forms and styles. This programme allows you to work with leading practitioners to ensure you become a diverse and artistic practitioner. 

Our intensive final year BA (Hons) Street Dance Artistry and Hip Hop Theatre course offers you the opportunity to build on your existing dance-related foundation degree or HND. It provides an eclectic mix of styles and techniques, Breaking, Popping, Locking, House, Whacking, Voguing and Hip-Hop Foundations, underpinned by core techniques. Through a range of industry led projects and performance opportunities you will acquire and refine the essential skills to an advance and professional standard to ensure you are prepared for employment whilst continuing to nurture your creative identity and practice.

Delivered by a range of professional subject specialists you will be encouraged to develop your artistic and creative expression alongside being responsive to the demands of a career, as a performer, choreographer, producer, director and teacher within the dance theatre arena.

Successful completion of this honours level top-up programme provides the platform for the aspiring dance artist to begin their professional career in the dance and performing arts industry or pursue further postgraduate study in a relevant field. For those students wishing to continue their education into the postgraduate sector Shockout also had a fast-growing postgraduate provision to accommodate student’s needs.

This course is validated by the University of Bolton.

Requirements

Requirements

64 UCAS points from at least one, but preferably two, A2-levels (or equivalent such as BTEC or HND) and experience of dance is preferred.

In addition you will be required to attend an audition as part of the application process. The quality of the audition is the primary basis on which applicants, with at least the minimum entry requirements, are selected.

  3. Confirm your audition date
  4. Attend your confirmed audition date
  5. You will then receive a letter offering you a conditional or unconditional offer
  6. You must then confirm or reject your place
