About us:

Shockout Academy (Part-Time) is a training program for ages 7-16 that has been carefully crafted and developed over the past 20 years. We don’t follow the crowd; Shockout aims to always be “A Step Above The Rest” and we take pride in this.

At Shockout Academy, we offer a safe and inclusive environment for young dancers, providing them with the opportunity to explore and refine their skills across a wide range of dance genres. From commercial and street dance to hip hop foundations, ballet, jazz, tap, and more, we ensure that every student receives a balanced and well-rounded dance education that nurtures both their technical ability and creative expression.

Aside from simply dance training, we intend to instil values of hard work and dedication in our young people both in and out of the studio, encouraging them to fiercely and passionately follow their dreams.

Weekly Schedule:

Shockout Academy runs on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In addition to our main Saturday training, we offer classes on a Tuesday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, where students focus on developing their technical skills in Ballet and Tap. On a Thursday evening from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, students can choose a Dance or Musical Theatre pathway, allowing them to specialise in areas of their interest.

As of September 2024, we are proud to have relocated to our new campus in Old Trafford.

Our training is designed to be welcoming to dancers of all skill levels, ensuring a supportive environment for students aged 7-16, no matter where they are on their dance journey.

WHAT WE eXPECT:

Discipline & Behaviour

We believe that a positive and respectful environment is essential for the learning and wellbeing of our students.

Good behaviour and unwavering commitment is always expected, and we do not tolerate any form of gossiping, bullying or abuse.

Uniform

We follow a strict uniform policy to ensure a high level of focus, discipline and etiquette within classes. This aligns with the level of expectation on our BTEC and undergraduate courses.

A full uniform checklist will be sent upon enrolment.

How to apply

We invite all new students to try a free taster day.

If you’re interested in joining, or would like more information, please email us at academy@weareshockout.com.

We don’t expect your child to be fully kitted out for their taster day, so we recommend wearing a black t-shirt or crop top and black joggers or leggings, and suitable trainers.

Our Facilities

At our brand new campus, the Valo Building, we offer high-quality training for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the arts. This state-of-the-art facility is strategically situated next to Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. During the week, the Valo Building is the vibrant hub for Shockout Arts courses.

The Valo Building boasts 12 brand new soundproof and sprung floor studios, and a built-in theatre. These specialized studios offer an exceptional learning environment, enabling students to immerse themselves in their creative disciplines.
